Meet the Founder of the School
Sardara Banu
The heart of our vision beats with the legacy of our trailblazing founder, Mrs. Sardara Bano a woman far ahead of her time. In an era when women were seldom seen in the world of business, especially in the early 1960s, she dared to dream differently. She didn’t just lead; she orchestrated a quiet renaissance championing the rightful place of women in a domain that had long excluded them. Her fearless spirit continues to inspire every thread we weave and every story we tell.
The handicraft industry in Kashmir stands as a living testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage and artistic brilliance. Traditionally a male-dominated space, this sector once reflected the rigid societal norms.
But amidst such norms, Mrs. Sardara Bano emerged as a visionary. Defying societal expectations, she opened doors for women in the world of handicrafts.
More than just inclusion, she empowered these women providing them with the skills, training, and confidence to excel. Her bold leadership sparked a transformation: silent observers became skilled artisans, and dependent individuals became economically independent.
A philanthropist and a visionary, she held a deep love for children and was passionate about instilling moral values and education.
Just as Mrs. Sardara Bano ignited a revolution through empowerment and vision in the handicraft industry, a school too becomes a space of transformation when it dares to challenge the status quo.
In her spirit, this school stands for more than academics it strives to empower every child, especially girls, to learn diligently, lead confidently, and precede leaving purpose.
She dreamed of establishing an institution devoted to their enlightenment. Today, that dream lives on in our mission. We believe girls represent half of the world’s potential, and when given equal access to education, they emerge as leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

The motto of our school LEARN, LEAD, PRECEDE stands as a testament to our mission of making this institution as a hallmark of excellence, empowering girls to set new benchmarks and lead by example.
